Washing & Sterilization of Vaccination Equipment at Farm
To get best efficiency of Vaccination program & to avoid cross contamination it is very important to concentrate on proper washing and sterilization of the vaccination equipment before their use.
Washing & Sterilization of Vaccine Spray Machines
- After each vaccination, the machine should be thoroughly washed from in and outside with hot water (Plane water, without any sort of disinfectant).
- Put warm water inside the machine and spray out any residual effect of the vaccine.
- Wash outer surface of the machine with hot water (Add Chlorine or soap) use clean sponge and then rinse with tape water.
- Keep the tightly closed vaccination machine in clean and dry place to protect from contamination and physical damage.
- Same procedure can also be used on other tools like mixing container and machine cord etc.
- All used vaccine containers, ampules,syringes and gloves should be disposed by burning.
- At the time of next vaccination, the vaccine spray machine should be washed with tab water and should be tested before reconstitution of live vaccine.
Note:
- After the vaccination, count the vaccine doses (bottles or vials) use and get-rid of the empty bottles, used plastic syringes, pipes , tubes and needles by burning them.
- Rinse the syringes ( KC, Stereo,Double etc) with warm water, and operate the syringes several times to eliminate any Residual effect.
- Dissemble the syringes and wash them with soap and hot water.
- Rinse with tap water before drying and reassembling the syringes.
- Put the syringes in pressure cooker up to 20 minutes.
- Microwave or several other types of modern disinfectant equipment are available now a days in the market.
- Dry out and tightly close the syringes in a clean plastic bags, ready for reuse.
